Information about 5H program

The 5H program aims at ensuring that every rural area/village has Homes for the homeless, Health care, Hygiene, Human Values and Harmony in diversity. Set up in 1997, 5H catalyzes social transformation that aims to eradicate poverty, misery, disease and ensure peace and harmony in rural and tribal areas worldwide.

The youth from the local community undergo the Youth Leadership Training Program (YLTP). This gives them the skills, motivation and abilities to initiate and lead service projects in their own villages and localities based on their needs.

Only a strong spiritual foundation brings self esteem and self confidence that is unshakeable. It is this combination of spirituality, and skills and leadership training that ensures the long-term effectiveness and sustainability of this program.

The individuals and communities at the grassroots become self-reliant both socially and economically. Further, the effects are long-term and sustainable.

About YLTP - Youth Leadership Training Program

Here is some information about the YLTP program that we are now implementing in Kenya.

YLTP, is an intensive residential program which gives an immersion in stress and trauma relief techniques of breathing, meditation and yoga and prepares to teach those techniques back to the community. A focus on leadership, teamwork and communication skills creates a solidly bonded team of volunteers with an emphasis on service that gives back to communities in need.

In the words of one YLTP graduate,

"Youth Leadership Training was the most memorable and rewarding experience of my life. I can’t wait to go back."

YLTP expands one’s ability to live a happy, fulfilling and useful life. It breaks the boundaries of what one thought one was capable of, increases personal power, energy and focus, as well as leadership, teamwork and communication skills.

It challenges one to learn and embody the Art of Living, discover one’s potential and be the change you wish to see. Tapping the inner wisdom, one becomes a model of inner strength, joy and caring for the world. All this is nurtured by a deep connection with a loving and accepting team who dedicate themselves to the challenging and ultimately fulfilling work of personal growth and service.
